ISIN2LEI.eu is a RegTech start-up founded in 2018 by Johan Hol.
We went officially live on September 1st, 2018 and provide linked open data on Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs) and International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs).

Johan is working in the financial sector for over 10 years. He worked at BNY Mellon on regulatory reporting for pension funds and insurance companies. He started his own business in 2015 with key focus on data management and regulatory reporting.

ISIN2LEI.eu makes data available in a user-friendly webportal, where you can easily search and drilldown to the details. Data can be exported to CSV and PDF and you can create your own list of favorite LEIs and ISINs. Next to that we have an API and Excel AddIn which can be integrated in clients' systems and processes.

Regulatory technology, in short RegTech, is a new field within the financial technology industry that utilizes information technology to enhance regulatory processes. It puts a particular emphasis on regulatory monitoring, reporting and compliance and is thus benefiting the finance industry.

At ISIN2LEI.eu we link various Open Data sources and make data available via our webportal.

The main sources of our data are the Global Legal Entity Identifier System (GLEIS) and the Financial Instruments Reference Data System (FIRDS). We also use local business registers and add additional data mappings ourselves so we can deliver the highest possible LEI and ISIN coverage.

Our main focus is on datamanagement and data quality. Our mission is to provide data that is ready to use and easy to access.

LEI

The ISO 17442 Legal Entity Identifier is a 20 digit global identifier for legal entities.

Currently there are about 2.5 million LEIs worldwide. The LEI has to be included in about 140 regulations within 25 jurisdictions.

Next to business information the Global LEI System also contains parent and child relationship information, which is also included in our LEI records.

ISIN

The ISO 6166 International Securities Identification Number is a 12 digit identifier assigned to financial instruments.

We have over 60 million unique ISINs in our database which are linked to LEIs. ISINs are mainly assigned to equity, bonds and ETF, but recently they were also issued for OTC Derivatives.
